==Layout==

I would like to start discussion on how to make this front page more appealing than simply a list of links :). Something more like wikipedia front page, with different sections in boxes (horizontal layout). I was thinking it could work like this: "Official" Documents, like the Players Guide, on one side in a box; "Community" written documents on the other side, like FAQs and such. Other section ideas - screenshot of the day/week/month? (Might not be a good idea to turn this into a image-upload site though) Could do two smaller side-by-side box sections with "New to the Wiki" and "Help with the Wiki". Anyone have any thoughts/ideas/suggestions? Or do people just like the links? :D

Depends what this wiki is meant to be. For now, it is a back-up support for the official web-site, and information from here will be used to update that one. However, if Talad decides to make this one an official page, then we will definitely need to add some layout bling-bling :)

I would say can the white and blue and go with PS colors.

Out Of Character

Out of Character or OOC as it is commonly refered, is what it sounds like, speaking while in game as if you are not in it.

Examples of OOC speech are: lol, haxxor, ;P, lagging, l33t, any meantions of game mechanics, as in "d00d why's my screen black?" and anything remotely like any of these.

Planshift is an immersive role playing experience, all players are expected to respect this fact. When one speaks in the main chat window, it is etiquette to make a distinction between how the person sitting at the computer would respond to an in game situation and how a character living in Yliakum would respond to an in game situation. When a player is logged on as a character they are expected to only speak as their character at all times.

The only exception, which should be used only sparingly, is properly done in brackets as in: [Friend, why is my screen black?]. Anything the human being at the computer who lives on Earth says goes inside brackets. Everything the character in the game who lives in Yliakum says can be said in main chat.

Generally when one is in a "Group" or in a "Tell" OOC is permitted but customs on this vary, tread lightly. Respect and understanding is expected of all players.

In order to avoid speaking OOC a player must understand what it is to be "In Character," or IC.
